NACA HARTFORD 2022 SHOWCASING ACTS RECAP

We had a great in Hartford for the NACA Conference on October 27-29, 2022! Here’s a recap of our exciting acts that showcased at this conference! 

The Extra Lives Live Experience is a fully narrated choose-your-own-adventure game where YOU are the main character. Audiences are plunged into an exciting story with visuals, music, footage and sound effects drawn from the legendary console games of the ‘80s, ‘90s and 2000s. With a live score provided by the lovable nerds of Extra Lives, this immersive feast for the imagination will transport you back to your childhood whether you grew up playing video games or not!

Lacey Roop uses spoken word to advocate as an ally for the LGBTQ+ community. Lacey’s poems discuss gender, sexuality, marginalized voices, and women-empowerment. She focuses on soaking up and sharing the hope and magic that exist all around us every day.

“Truth or Laughs?” is an interactive comedy experience where you can win real money. It takes the audience behind-the-scenes of funny stories with hilarious reveals. The show alternates between Ben and Michelle telling funny stories from their stand-up acts, the entire audience playing an interactive game on their phones about those stories, and individuals interacting with Ben and Michelle for bonus points and cash wheel spins.

Nico Carney is a New York based standup comedian and writer. He was featured in Netflix’s “Introducing…” showcase as part of the Netflix is a Joke Festival. He co-hosts a podcast called Boys’ Club with his best friend and writing partner Conor Janda. Nico and Conor also co-host a monthly standup show in New York City also called Boys’ Club at Club Cumming.

John Rotellini has captivated audiences around the world by doing the impossible.  A childhood love for magic paired with an eclectic collection of interests led John to develop what has become an obsession.  By merging sleight of hand magic and illusions with other disciplines – psychology, con artistry, film, music and theatre, John has created live, interactive events that more closely resemble Hollywood blockbusters rather than traditional magic shows.

Brooklyn native, Alex Babbitt, otherwise known as “Mr. Babbitt”, is a rising star in the New York City scene. Mr. Babbitt started at the ripe age of 16 and has now become one of the funniest and most charismatic comedians in the country.

Biracial poet and MC, Courageous, and mental health advocate Lane Shuler deliver a show that combines poetry, comedy, and hip-hop into an energetic show that is educational and entertaining. Their topics range from diversity, social justice, depression/suicide prevention and more.
